About the Campaign

Go! Explore Manchester is an interactive buy local campaign that focuses on providing local businesses with support programs that increase and measure patronage. We utilize print and digital marketing to engage the public and raise awareness of the strong small business culture in Manchester, CT. 

The long-term goal of this campaign is to create a smart device application that leads shoppers directly to the goods and services that they are looking for, along with special offerings, discounts and sales taking place in real time.

Shop Small Holiday Campaign

Local business generates 70% more local economic activity per square foot than big box retail. If every US family spent just $10 a month at a local business, over $9.3 billion would be directly returned to our economy. "How are you meeting your customers' needs during the COVID crisis?" 

The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Manchester’s economic development team, with support from the Downtown Manchester Special Services District, partnered on a social media campaign highlighting how local businesses are adapting to pandemic-related disruptions. 

Participating businesses were asked to answer the question: "How are you meeting your customers' needs during the COVID crisis?" Their answers were highlighted on social media from September through December of 2020.
