home care, education and support services. Now in its seventy-seventh year,
Manchester Memorial Hospital is a nationally recognized facility
serving nineteen towns as an affiliate of Eastern Connecticut
Health Network, providing health promotion and education, preventive
medicine, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Services are provided
regardless of ability to pay.
Manchester Memorial Hospital is Accredited with Commendation
by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations,
a distinction shared with only twelve percent of all U.S. hospitals
in 1998.
Special services include: The Family Birthing center,
Sleep Study Center, Corp Care Occupational Health Centers, Behavioral
(Mental) Health Services for adolescent, adult and geriatric
populations (including inpatient, partial hospitalization and
outpatient services), Family Support and Resource Centers, Diabetes
Self Management and Nutrition Counseling.
The hospital offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient
and surgical services, including its Ambulatory Service Center,
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), full-service laboratory and
other diagnostic and rehabilitative services. Also available
are PromptCare Walk-In Medical Center for urgent care any day
and 24-hour Emergency Department care. An impressive full range
of community health education offerings include free screening,
classes and exercise groups, such as the 1,700-member of Mall
