 Manchester High School

Manchester has an excellent public school system recently receiving awards for National Secondary School Excellence and a National Teacher of the Year.

Manchester High School enjoys a regional reputation for the strength of its academics, sports, and performing arts programs, and for its efforts in involving students in community service. The school system includes ten elementary and two middle schools.

The Town of Manchester also boasts an excellent Catholic school system (K-12),
three private elementary schools, a private high school, and a State technical high school. Manchester Community College, the State of Connecticut's largest community college, serves over 12,000 students annually. The college offers day, evening and weekend classes in over 30 different degree and certificate programs. In addition, the Division of Continuing Education offers an array of credit-free classes in topics as diverse as small business practice to yoga, and special programs for children and older adults. The college also provides many free services for area residents including career counseling, lectures, panel discussions and cultural events. The library, which is open to all residents, provides on-line research capabilities.

Many fine universities are within 40 miles, including the University of Connecticut, Wesleyan University, Trinity College, the University of Hartford and Yale University.
