ERCCA

A Little History

Established more than twenty years ago, the Chambers of Manchester, South Windsor, CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce and Tolland County have worked together as a coalition, known as the East of the River Chambers of Commerce Association (ERCCA).

ERCCA’s primary success as a coalition of four Chambers working together is due to mutual respect and trust. Each Chamber recognizes each other as an equal partner.

There have been a few times over the years when one or two of the four Chambers could not endorse public policy issues endorsed by others, but the mutual respect remains and these instances have never hampered ERCCA’s long-term relationship or effectiveness in the region.

ERCCA represents four independent Chambers serving over 28 towns in Eastern Connecticut and more than 3,500 business members.

Offered Benefits

When your business joins one of the four East of the River Chambers of Commerce, your business automatically becomes a member of ERCCA. Your business cannot join ERCCA without being a member of one of the four ERCCA chambers.

Your involvement with ERCCA extends your reach beyond your local Chamber to regional and state issues of concern to all businesses.

ERCCA assists the Chambers of the region in promoting economic, commercial, industrial, professional, cultural and civic welfare within the region.

ERCCA has been instrumental in;

  • Lowering the cost of doing business in Connecticut
  • Creating expanded opportunities for networking on a regional basis
  • Providing group life, health, dental and disability insurance programs at competitive rates
  • Serving as the voice of the business communities at all government levels

Throughout the Region

ERCCA's annual Economic Outlook is held in connection with the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA). Scheduled for January, the program features prominent speakers and provides local business owners with an enlightened forecast of the region's economic climate.

ERCCA serves on the Hartford Springfield Economic Partnership, also known as New England's Knowledge Corridor. Linked by the CT River and 1-91, Greater Hartford and Springfield form an economic powerhouse working to attract business, industry and employees to the region.

ERCCA provides support and participates in Connecticut Business Day at the State Capitol. Held in March, Business Day provides members with the opportunity to meet with their local legislators in an informal atmosphere to discuss issues important to their businesses.

ERCCA serves on the Steering Committee for the annual CT Business to Business Trade Show. This state-wide event showcases more than 5,000 attendees. ERCCA members receive a discounted rate for display space.
